Minnesota Educational Equity Partnership

April 30, 2016

The Coalition is pleased to be able to learn from the work of the Minnesota Educational Equity  Partnership.

Minnesota Education Equity Partnership uses a race equity lens to transform educational institutions, organizations, and leaders to ensure that students of color and American Indian students achieve full academic and leadership success.

We envision a just society in which an equitable educational ecosystem ensures all students achieve their full potential. Achieving this vision would mean that race is no longer a predictor of educational success.

We believe that to accomplish this requires the public’s simultaneous commitment to race equity and educational excellence.

Education Minnesota

May 01, 2016

Education Minnesota is proud to join the TOCAI coalition partners in their work to attract and retain more educators of color and American Indian teachers. Equity in our public schools is a top priority.

Our union of 86,000 educators has been pushing for better working conditions, loan forgiveness, mentoring and other programs to encourage more people of color to consider teaching as a career and to stay in the profession.

Education Minnesota members are also working to develop anti-racism resources and personal growth experiences for fellow educators. Educator of color forums help engage and connect members through trainings, conferences and issue-based organizing.
