Contest to Increase Awareness and Action
for the 2021 Increase Teachers of Color Act (ITCA)

 

*YOUTH AWARDS:      Top Influencer**                 $1,000

                                      Next Top 10 Influencers       $750 each

                                      Next 20 Influencers              $500 each

 

​**The youth winner will also be offered an internship or consulting contract (up to $500/month) to do Coalition social media communications for up to a year.

*AWARDS to PARENTS of COLOR:  Top 5 Influencers receive $1,000

 

CONTEST DATES:   Now thru March 18, 2021

 

DESCRIPTION:  The Coalition will offer up to 31 “scholarship awards” to BIPOC or white youth who create the most engaging and influential social media efforts encouraging civic participation needed to pass 2021 Increase Teachers of Color Act (ITCA). ALL students benefit from more teachers of color! Five awards will also be given to the top BIPOC parents who participate. Winning Influencers must prove with data how they raised awareness about ITCA and motivated peers to act as described in the contest guidelines. This is not a competition about who is personally most popular on social media, but a collective effort of grass roots mobilizing the voice and power of youth around a shared purpose. Contest winners will be announced by early April.
